Our Department is the only one in Italy whose name refers to both mental and physical health. Its fundamental mission is to promote awareness, prevention, early identification, and personalized management of mental health problems in people with physical illnesses, and physical health problems in people with mental illnesses, throughout their entire lives and taking into account gender specificities.
The MENFIS project has been selected and funded by the Ministry of University and Research (MIUR) as one of the Projects of Excellence for the five-year period 2023-2027.
The project aims to study in detail, through the use of innovative technologies and research techniques, the main physical illnesses frequently associated with mental disorders and mental disorders frequently associated with physical illnesses.
