Obiettivi formativi

Course objectives

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
The goal of the Ophthalmology course is to enable students of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery to acquire theoretical, scientific, and professional knowledge in the fields of anatomy, pathophysiology, clinical practice, diagnostics, and therapy of ocular diseases. At the end of the course, students must be able to correctly diagnose the most important pathologies of the visual system, thanks to the study of the signs and symptoms associated with them.
Furthermore, students will focus their study on the most modern diagnostic technologies in the field of ophthalmology, to arrive at a more refined diagnosis and set up the most precise and personalized therapy possible.
APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
At the end of the course, the student must be able to manage simple clinical cases of cardiovascular disease, starting with the patient's physical examination, up to diagnosis and treatment (medical, interventional, or surgical); integrate anamnestic data with clinical signs to formulate a diagnostic suspicion; interpret the results of laboratory and imaging tests in the context of the clinical picture; apply evidence-based guidelines for planning appropriate therapeutic pathways.
MAKING JUDGMENTS
At the end of the course, the student must be able to critically evaluate the relevance and accuracy of the clinical data collected; analyze the ethical and legal implications associated with clinical decisions and informed consent; and critically interpret the scientific literature to update medical practice.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
At the end of the course, the student must be able to communicate complex clinical information to the patient in a clear, empathetic, and understandable manner; prepare concise and rigorous medical records, reports, and medical reports; and present clinical cases and scientific findings to specialist and non-specialist interlocutors.
LEARNING SKILLS
At the end of the course, the student must be able to use bibliographic databases to solve emerging clinical questions; develop an autonomous study method for constant professional development
